A pochi minuti dal giro di boa del Capodanno, Paul e Bacall, ammesso che si chiamino così, incrociano per caso i rispettivi destini e le segrete paure tra i parapetti di un cavalcavia affacciato sulla fine. In una notte di carreggiate invase, fughe bestiali dallo zoo, donne-fumo e animali feroci indistinguibili dagli esseri umani, la corsa a bordo di una macchina che diventa un sottomarino incandescente lanciato verso l’ignoto si rivela una scoperta di sé fuori tempo massimo. E alla fine tutto torna.
PANORAMICA DEGLI ABISSI è un progetto di TO DIE ON ICE che prende forma in tre dimensioni. Nella sua veste di racconto è la proiezione editoriale in rotante versione bilingue (questo libro). È un disco, pubblicato da Subsound Records/Gymnocal Industries. E infine è un clamoroso visual sviluppato partendo da un dettaglio della storia apparentemente insignificante. È come bere da un bicchiere che si prende da un quadro che riproduce un bicchiere.
Filippo Dionisi - Da quando è stato cacciato dalla redazione di un quotidiano nazionale, passa il tempo a spiegare cosa sia un copywriter, scrive tendenzialmente racconti e più o meno regolarmente pubblica storie di ordinario sconcerto e stupore sul blog ilpallanuotistasullasediaelettrica. Ha suonato per 13 anni negli action dead mouse e nel 2021 ha fondato TO DIE ON ICE per dare espressione alla perturbante corrente del Lynch Core.
Vitt Moretta - Fumettista e illustratrice classe 1990, ha esordito per Coconino Press con “Il Tramonto del Sea Breeze”, tradotto e pubblicato in Francia da Sarbacane. Autrice di “Puzzle”, albo della collana “Fumetti dei Musei”, è attiva nel mondo delle autoproduzioni e collabora con maestri della scena indipendente americana a progetti come l’antologia “Quality Pictures” di Simon Hanselmann e Josh Pettinger. I suoi lavori sono comparsi su Frankenstein Magazine, Osso, Scomodo, Domani Editoriale, Jacobin Italia, La Fine del Mondo (Il Manifesto). Insegna American comics in NABA, sede Roma. Il suo autoritratto è esposto presso le Gallerie degli Uffizi, assieme a quelli di altri grandi del fumetto.

A few minutes before the New Year’s turning point, Paul and Bacall—assuming that’s really their names—happen to cross paths, along with their respective destinies and secret fears, on the railings of an overpass overlooking the end. On a night of overrun roadways, bestial escapes from the zoo, smoke-women, and wild animals indistinguishable from human beings, the ride in a car that turns into a glowing submarine hurtling toward the unknown becomes a belated journey of self-discovery. And in the end, everything comes full circle.
PAN OF THE ABYSS is a project by TO DIE ON ICE that takes shape in three dimensions. In its narrative form, it is the editorial projection in a rotating bilingual edition (this book). It is a record, released by Subsound Records/Gymnocal Industries. And finally, it is a striking visual piece developed from an apparently insignificant detail of the story. It’s like drinking from a glass taken out of a painting that depicts a glass.
Filippo Dionisi - Since being fired from the editorial staff of a national newspaper, Filippo Dionisi has spent his time explaining what a copywriter
is. He generally writes short stories and more or less regularly publishes tales of ordinary bewilderment and wonder on his blog ilpallanuotistasullasediaelettrica. He played for 13 years in Action Dead Mouse, and in 2021 he founded TO DIE ON ICE to give expression to the disquieting current of Lynch Core.
Vitt Moretta - A comics artist and illustrator born in 1990, Vitt Moretta made her debut with Coconino Press with Il Tramonto del Sea Breeze, translated and published in France by Sarbacane. Author of Puzzle, an album in the “Fumetti dei Musei” series, she is active in the world of self-publishing and collaborates with masters of the American independent scene on projects such as Quality Pictures, an anthology by Simon Hanselmann and Josh Pettinger. Her work has appeared in Frankenstein Magazine, Osso, Scomodo, Domani Editoriale, Jacobin Italia, La Fine del Mondo (Il Manifesto). She teaches American Comics at NABA, Rome campus. Her self-portrait is exhibited at the Uffizi Galleries, alongside those of other great comic artists.
